3. Telemetry Data

We may sell, license, or commercialize aggregated and anonymized telemetry data. This data does NOT include your personal files, photos, messages, posts, or code. It is anonymized and aggregated before any commercial use.

This revenue helps offset hosting costs, keeping our services affordable, social media free with fair-use limits, and GitLab free for everyone.

4. Your Content

You retain all rights to your content. We do not sell, share, or provide access to your personal files, photos, messages, posts, or code to any third party. Your content is only accessed by our systems to provide the Services.

5. Data Security

We implement encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to essential operations only.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. Upon deletion, content is removed within 30 days. Telemetry data may be retained in anonymized form indefinitely.
